Greenhouse announces $1.4 billion expansion into UAE’s fine dining sector

Greenhouse Foodstuff Trading announced its expansion into the UAE’s fast-growing fine-dining sector – an industry now valued at $1.4 billion and projected to grow more than 15% annually. The move aligns with the UAE’s rise as a global culinary destination – Dubai currently hosts 19 MICHELIN-listed restaurants and 193 venues recognised by the Gault & Millau UAE Guide 2025.

The company’s shift comes against a backdrop of strong national growth forecasts: the UAE’s wider food and beverage market is expected to reach $43.87 billion by 2029, at a CAGR of 6.8%. In response, Greenhouse is refining its premium portfolio with a dual approach—strengthening its broadline offering while introducing curated, origin-focused sourcing designed for tasting menus and chef’s tables.

Recent initiatives reflect this direction. Through its work with the UAE Cheese Guild, the company is connecting restaurants with artisanal, small-batch cheesemakers, while partnerships with producers such as Elle & Vire bring origin-specific dairy from Normandy tailored for fine-dining preparations. Greenhouse is also renewing its focus on core proteins, including corn-fed baby chicken, speciality shrimp from Madagascar and a developing selection of high-quality meat cuts.

To introduce the expanded platform, the company hosted “All in Green,” an exclusive gathering at Villa 515, where leading UAE chefs were presented with ingredients sourced from around the world. The event featured a monochromatic, all-green menu created by Chef Nathan Rueff.

The fine-dining strategy builds on a decade of transformation in which Greenhouse consolidated its portfolio and expanded its footprint across five-star hotels, premium dining, catering and institutional channels—positioning the company to meet the rising expectations of the region’s evolving culinary landscape.
