Millennium & Copthorne, MENAT announced a 29-project development pipeline spanning 11,736 hotel and residence units across six markets. The portfolio, with openings scheduled between 2027 and 2029, marks the next phase of growth for the newly formed regional platform, which brings together the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey.
The pipeline comprises 5,637 hotel keys and 6,099 residences across Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE, Iraq, Georgia and Oman. Millennium currently operates 41 hotels across 20 cities and locations in the Middle East and Africa, giving the group an established base from which to expand.
Established in February 2026 under the leadership of Ali Hamad Lakhraim Alzaabi, MENAT is built around a unified regional approach to development and operations. At its centre is Millennium’s owner-operator model, which evaluates opportunities not simply by the number of properties added, but by market fundamentals, timing, asset performance and long-term returns.
“Scale alone is not the objective. What matters is executing the right projects, in the right markets, with the right partners,” says Alzaabi, President of Millennium & Copthorne, MENAT.
The strategy is also reshaping the group’s portfolio beyond traditional hotels. Residences account for more than half of the current pipeline, with 6,099 units. Egypt leads this diversification with 5,264 residences and 600 hotel keys across nine projects, while the UAE has 835 residences and 842 hotel keys across six projects. Millennium Residences Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, launched in September 2025, marked the group’s first branded-residences product in the region.
Saudi Arabia remains central to the expansion, with 11 projects representing 3,579 hotel keys and 30.5 per cent of total pipeline units. The Kingdom’s long-term tourism transformation and strong religious tourism market underpin the strategy, supported by Millennium’s established presence in Makkah and Madinah.
The wider pipeline includes Grand Millennium Sumou Al Madinah and Grand Millennium New Capital Tycoon Towers Cairo, alongside developments in Jeddah, Ras Al Khaimah, Dubai, Al Qurayyat, Georgia and Iraq. Several projects will also introduce Millennium to new cities and locations.
The group’s expansion extends beyond its physical portfolio. MyMillennium now spans three membership tiers, with its December 2025 reciprocity partnership with IHCL’s Taj InnerCircle and the July 2026 launch of MyMillennium Kids broadening the proposition across markets and customer segments.
